Eklips BioGraphy
As extraordinary as the phenomenon of a natural Eclipse, the group
has emerged as a powerful force on a natural ascension to the top. It is
a new style seasoned with a hint of Hip-Hop.They have succeeded in
capturing the young devoted Haitian and Haitian American crowd that
grows at every performance. Eklips is now made up of ten members who
share a vision that they are making into reality. Their goal is to make
Kompa music an integral part of their culture and pass the legacy on to
the young, and to make it well known worldwide. They are also loved and
respected by the old generation as well. One day, just as the moon’s
shadow covers the earth, their music will encompass the globe. Since
their birth in 1992, Eklips has produced 3-studio album and a Live CD.
whose lyrics are about current social issues and romantic songs. 1992:
the group produced its first CD (CHININA) which captured the public all
over Haiti and the Diaspora. The taste of this new kompa flavor did not
last long. Sadly enough, the group later separated in 1993 due to
creative differences.
In 1996: BOOOMMM!!! A second CD came out: "2 ALL NON BLIEVAZ".
It contains 12 songs whose lyrics are about current social issues and
romantic songs. It was a long awaited eponymous work of art from a group
that has already made its mark in the world Haitian Music Community.
This CD is a real "SIWEL". Our Fans were thirsty for the group
resurrection.
Fall 1998: Eklips has released another CD " Tout Sa' N Fe
Bon", that contains 13 songs, all hits, even more variety than the
previous Album. It is a must have.
Fall 1999: A live Cd" Se Konpa'n Ki Menen nou la" a Bal that
Kicked Zenglen's ass at La creole( Miami). Eklips has become one of
Florida's hottest live acts. The group is armed with powerful harmonies,
groove friendly beats, passionate ballads, a dynamic stage show and a
charisma that cannot be denied. Such combinations prompt people to move
to the rhythm!!!. Our creations speak to the minds, movements and
motivations of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. Promoters have come to
the realization that tickets are more attractive with the addition of
Eklips.
Fall 2000:The group has made again a full stop after a tour in Paris,
France.Some members once again have gone to other ventures.The fans
could not stand it, and AGAIN had demanded Eklips.
Summer 2008:A new CD titled "PANDAN'M PAT LA" will B out
soon. It's a must have.The group is more than a phenomenon, and it is
here to stay.
Le Saga continues L'horizon souriait au groupe qui faisait résonner le Kompa dans
toutes les boites de nuit de l'Etat de la Floride. Se te gwo koze
. Le manque de maturité du groupe fut la cause, plus tard, d'une
dissolution inattendue. Certains musiciens ont pris le chemin de la démission
et ne retourneront plus à "EKLIPS". That's too bad .
L'amour du groupe n'a cependant jamais cessé de grandir parmi ceux qui
croient qu'"EKLIPS" est animé du soufle musical de la
nouvelle musique haïtienne. Un second et tout récent CD "2 ALL
NON-B-LE-VAS" (1996) démontre cependant que la valeur n'attend pas
le nombre des années. Rarement entendu des sons aussi "Siwel"
du keyboard, des voix aussi harmonieuses et romantiques, des guitares
aussi pénétrantes, une batterie aussi frénétique, un tambour qui
brasse si bien tous les rythmes, une basse vibrante qui marie autant le
Rock et le Kompa.
Un Kompa saignant, puissant, qui bouleverse le monde de la musique haïtienne.
"EKLIPS" a acquis un style qui lui est propre. C'est clair. Ce
second compact est signé par un groupe nettement amélioré.Ce dernier
CD de 12 morceaux est un mélange de Rock, Hip Hop, Reggae, sans oublier
le real thing , le nôtre, le "KOMPA". A chaque
composition du CD correspond une mélodie, un rythme ou un son bien
particulier.
Tout a été conçu pour que les arrangements soient toujours
compatibles rythmiquement, mélodiquement et harmonieusement, sans rien
enlever au sens de l'improvisation. Chacun peut intervenir dans
l'architecture de la composition de sa propre ambiance sonore. Aussi,
vous avez compris, les réactions sont unanimes: "EKLIPS toujou
la". Certes, ce n'est pas une surprise, les musiciens du groupe
n'avaient jamais perdu la foi d'arriver un jour à faire éclater cette
vérité au grand jour. Voilà enfin un CD que le public a enviede se procurer, d'écouter,
et danser.

"ALWAYS SHOOT FOR THE POSITIVE."
Bientôt la sortie D'un nouveau "EKLIPS. CROYEZ-MOI!" C'est

Eklips incredible saga
began in 1992 in Miami, Florida, when Fritz Ady, Maxi Pierre, Wilson
Jean, Yves Gerard, Daniel Rene( Pouchon) talented musicians, decided to
create a new tradition in the modern world of Kompa Music. They later
expanded the group with Ansy Charles, Pascal Despradel and Edouard
Mathieu.
Fascinés par une éclipse
lunaire le 12 juillet 1990, Daniel, Maxi Pierre, Jean Gérard, Fritz Ady,
Wilson Jean ont décidé de créer un groupe musical "EKLIPS"
qui peut répondre aux besoins des amants de la bonne musique. Voulant réaliser
cet objectif, ils font appel à Pascal Despradel, Edouard Mathieu,
Ronald Paulin, Ansy Charles, Ghislaine Pierre pour compléter le groupe
qui va être l'un des plus populaires groupes haïtiens de la diaspora
et d'Haïti. En 1992, "EKLIPS" lance un premier Album sous le
titre de "CHININA" qui a connu un succès sans précédent.
